Support for JScript active scripting not found

Hello,

From PSPad, I got the following error message box :

> Support for "JScript" active scripting not found !
> Install WSH with requested language support.

This error message box pops up at PSPad startup.

WSH is installed with JScript support (JScript is native of WSH, as well as VBScript).

Running a JScript file from this Windows cession works fine (so there is no trouble with WSH installation).

This only occurs for one of the three accounts of my computer (PSPad works fine with the two other ones).

How does PSPad get access to WSH ? I would like to have track to be able to guess where the problem is.

Many thanks if one have an idea, otherwise, I would try to do the best I can alone.

I do not know how COM server works (just heard about what COM is, no more).

So you think this is a COM trouble ?

Do you know where I should look in to solve this ? Is it in the registry ? Is there something in the Windows system configuration panel which deal with this ?

I have the same problem after updating to 4.5.4 (2335) English. Please help!

If this is only happening on one out of a number of accounts on the same machine, it sounds as though there are some rights differences between the accounts or perhaps a corrupt hive.

I had the same issue since IE8.

Just updating WHS on my machine solves that.

I had the same problem since IE8. Installing again WSH solve the problem with pspad, but IE8 is now really buggy and crash every minute.

I installed again IE8, and the problem with PSPad and JScript came back.

Any other solution ?

Windows XP SP3, PSpad, WSH, IE8 without problem.

Using processmonitor helped me track this problem : I had a script file in the "Program Files\PSPad editor\Script\JScript" folder which did not have the module_name and module_ver variables declared.

Adding these variables solved my problem

On my computer, the problem can easily be reproducted by creating an empty js file in the "Program Files\PSPad editor\Script\JScript" folder.
