I noticed that PSPad is licensed under a license identical to the Open Source "zlib/libpng License":
www.opensource.org
Is PSPad more than freeware then?
If so, how can I obtain the source code to PSPad?
I took notice of PSPad from a user's review in a different forum as its integrated hex editor caught my eye.
My text editor and hex editors normally are separate programs.
If PSPad is open source software, it would certainly make a stronger case for me to switch.

Would you consider making it open source?
Perhaps under a ransomware scheme?

Ransomware sounds like a great idea , the developer of the software gets paid and we get great software thats opensource

I was wondering if this option had been reconsidered, since 2004

Any official statement on the subject ?
Has your opinion changed ?
I think Pspad has a very dynamic community, and it could really draw benefits from users' contributions.

PSPad under an open source License would be absolutely great! I love this editor, and with some improvements it could get even better.
Any official statement on this issue?

Any news since 2004?
2011 — the future is now.
Why not?
PSPad in open-source will be great,
famous and long-living project...

I have seen open source do one of two things for a product:
1) A small group of people adopt the product and push the product forward with new inovations.
2) No one is responsible for development, lots of ideas, little programming. The product languishes and eventually becomes obsolete when a new Windows version comes out.
If you check on SourceForge you will find that number 2 is very common.
